How to Use ProtonMail on iPhone
Use the official Proton Mail app on your iPhone for encrypted email. Works with free and paid ProtonMail accounts. No Bridge required on iOS.
On iPhone, ProtonMail works through the official Proton Mail app from the App Store. Unlike desktop computers, you don't need ProtonMail Bridge — the app handles all encryption natively and supports both free and paid accounts.
Install Proton Mail on iPhone
- Open the App Store on your iPhone.
- Search for Proton Mail (published by Proton AG).
- Tap Get to download and install the app (it's free).
- Open the app and tap Sign In.
- Enter your ProtonMail address and password.
- Complete two-factor authentication if you have it set up.
- Your encrypted inbox will be ready immediately.
Can I use ProtonMail in the iOS Mail app? No — ProtonMail's encryption is not compatible with the standard iOS Mail IMAP protocol. ProtonMail Bridge (the tool that enables this on desktop) is not available on iOS. The Proton Mail app is the only supported way to use ProtonMail on iPhone and iPad.
