Use ProtonMail on Android with the official Proton Mail app — the easiest and most secure way. Free accounts are fully supported.
The easiest way to use ProtonMail on Android is through the official Proton Mail app, which is available for free and works with all ProtonMail accounts — including free plans. Unlike desktop email clients, no Bridge is needed on mobile.
Install the Proton Mail App
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
- Search for Proton Mail (by Proton AG).
- Tap Install.
- Once installed, open the app and tap Sign In.
- Enter your ProtonMail address and password.
- Complete the two-factor authentication if enabled.
- Your encrypted inbox will be ready within seconds.
No IMAP/SMTP needed: The Proton Mail app handles encryption natively. You do NOT need to configure any server settings — it's all built in.
