How to Add a Hotmail or Outlook.com Account on Android

There are two great ways to use your Hotmail or Outlook.com account on Android: the Microsoft Outlook app (recommended) or the built-in Android Email app.

Method 1: Use the Microsoft Outlook App (Recommended)

1. Download Microsoft Outlook from the Google Play Store (it's free).
2. Open the app and tap Add Account.
3. Enter your Hotmail address and tap Continue.
4. Enter your Microsoft password and sign in.
5. Complete two-step verification if prompted.
6. Your emails, calendar, and contacts will sync automatically.

Method 2: Use Android's Built-In Email App

1. Go to Settings → Accounts → Add account → Personal (IMAP).
2. Enter your Hotmail address and tap Next.
3. If Android can't set it up automatically, enter the settings from the table below.
